Comfort

"Nothing in the physical world can contain or limit the power of the human spirit."

Where do you go for comfort? Many times we look outside of ourselves for satisfaction, but if we can't be silent and alone in times of discomfort than maybe its time to reconnect with ourselves.

Many times we get stuck in a situation where our things hold us hostage. Food, T.V, alcohol, even money. But its not that we have to break their ties to us, we have to break our ties from them .

We have invested our emotional energy in these things that we believe to be comforting, but in reality they are draining us of our natural ability to comfort ourselves. They take our power just like the T.V uses electricity to turn on.

These "comfort" businesses make millions of dollars a year on our unhappiness. Trying to sell it back to us. What happens however is short lived comfort and then a pattern of having to plug in again and again to whatever we are buying.

But there is something out there that is free to replenish, free to tap into, and will keep us comfortable, happy, healthy and shining day after day, year after year, life after life.

Your spirit. There is absolutely nothing in the tangible human world that can hold back the power of your spirit. When we tap into this potential, there is absolutely nothing that can hold back our power to create, enjoy, love, be happy, healthy and comfort ourselves.

Can you make your spiritual life a priority?  Anything that you can do to connect back to who you are at your core is your spiritual life. Create, paint, read, walk in nature, yoga, meditate.

It is only recently that I have added a meditation practice to my day and I am here to tell you it is the quickest thing you can do for lasting comfort.

A great way to introduce meditation into your day is R.P.M right away in the morning
Rise, Pee, Meditate. You don't have to sit for any amount of time. Just do these 5 things:

Sit down somewhere comfortable, and free from distractions.
Close your eyes and consciously breathe. Think about it your breath. Feel where it goes, where
it starts, where it ends. Where it travels in between.
When your thoughts bombard you, and they will, say thank you, then take another breath.
Do this again and again and again. This is the practice. At first you may want to take a set
number of breaths within your practice and see if you can get through them without
      loosing count.
Lastly, after your last breath visualize your life as happy and complete. What ever change
you want to make, visualize that you are living within that change. Visualize yourself as not
wanting anything more than what you have inside, what does that feel like?  Take this feeling
and use it throughout the rest of your day as a reference point to keep coming back to when
you start to feel outside sources draining you of your power.

Tomorrow, practice again.

Nothing imaginable can stand in your way when you are aware of your own spirit's power to guide you. Put your faith in the guidance you give yourself you will find comfort.

In love and light.
